Dear parents,
Weeks are flying by and we are delighted with the progress our gymnasts are making. Please be advised we are currently assessing gymnasts with a view for some beginners to move to improvers and improvers to move to intermediate and some intermediate to move up to advanced. If your child is ready we will advise you to move by Halloween.
Speaking of Halloween our camp has been launched. Please take note of the special offer deadline. The cheaper rate will only apply before the 6th October. BOOK HERE
We are also running a Halloween Disco/ Fancy Dress. It will take place on the 31st October 1.30-4.30pm. Members or non members are welcome. All ages. Parents will drop off as if it were a camp scenario. Pre booking is essential. If pre booked you pay the cheaper rate of €15. There is no guarantee we can accept drop in pay as you go but if we have the space the rate will be €20 which is the same as doing drop in for any of our other camp half days. There will be Halloween activities, games , spot prizes for best dressed, most creative and as it’s also Disco we gotta throw in Best Dancer. This is included in the afternoon and full day camp rate. Gymstart Participation Event Open to all Members:
In addition it has been brought to our attention that Gymnastics Ireland have a Gymstart event running in Limerick on December 9th. We participated last year and it was amazing. It is a non competitive event that promotes participation. It is a floor only event. Gymnasts can perform very advanced skills. This is by no means a basic event. Gymnasts will perform a list of elements their coach chooses, in a certain level or grade. All will receive a medal. It really is a fantastic event which we are contemplating entering this year. However we would need substantial numbers in order to make it viable to attend. Details of the event and skills are here. Also please see their media coverage of last years event here

Level 1-10 And Plus National Final Competitions:
For the past few years EGC has selected gymnasts to compete Nationally based on the skill criteria specified and scoring system. The gymnasts selected usually are in our competitive squads. However with a view to opening this to all members for 2018 that are interested in the competing and have the criteria we ask you to complete this expression of interest form and we can review the gymnasts to see if it is a possibility. If you are unsure if your child has the criteria for any of any the National Finals please see HERE. Please be advised if you wish to just perform In House (club) you can also select that option. We are using this form to get an idea what members are interested in but cannot guarantee Nationals at all levels is a possibility. NOTE : Gymnasts age turning 7 in the year of competition are eligible.
We will be closed during the Halloween mid term break please see our annual calendar for all other important dates.
Private tuition:
Over the last few weeks we have received some interest in private tuition. This can be as basic as a gymnast wishing to gain more confidence learning a cartwheel or it can be for a high performance gymnasts to work giants and all that is in between. It is also very beneficial to some gymnasts in the lead up to competition, to aid with some last minute jitters. Some skills can be quite difficult to work with the restraints of a 30 minute rotation when a coach has 10 in a class. Private tuition is a great way to remedy this. If you would be interested in this for your child please email your request. You may also provide your coach preference however this may not be a possibility if the coach has limited time coaching in the gym but we will do our very best. Our Head coaches Gillian and Clare have offered to be available on selected days with prior arrangement. Details of fees for this are here under 1-2-1 classes.
Term fees:
By now all term fees are expected to be paid in full or your standing order needs to be in place and up to date. If this is not the case it is very important to contact geraldine at reception on 086 2726662 or email and we can discuss this discreetly. Please also be advised that Facebook Or Messenger is not the best forum to query personal information, and specific queries as it isn’t manned constantly. It primarily is for general queries that don’t rely on members personal information been discussed. Our website caters for this.
Merchandise orders before Christmas:
Our online shop becomes quite busy by November and we would recommend if you want specific merchandise to book early. We are also planning on launching a new casual tracksuit and Special addition Christmas leotards. Both will be limited edition so we advise to order as soon as you are notified. We also hope to have basic mats for sale. Please keep an eye here on our shop.
